The short version: use it as much as you like with your own family, on all your devices, forever. Don’t sell it, share it, or upload it. If you want to use it at work with other people’s children, we have a separate licence — just ask, it’s friendly.

1. What you are buying

When you buy a Little Natter product you are buying a personal licence to use it. You are not buying the copyright, the design, the code, or the right to pass it on. We keep ownership of all of that.

The licence has no end date. It does not renew, it cannot be revoked because you stopped paying — there is nothing to keep paying — and it does not stop working if this website disappears tomorrow.

2. What you may do

  • Use the product with the children in your own household
  • Install and open the file on as many devices as you personally use
  • Add your own photographs, names, words and text
  • Print it as many times as you like, at home or at a print shop
  • Laminate it, cut it up, stick it on the fridge, redo it every term
  • Make backup copies for your own use
  • Keep using it forever, offline, with no account

Grandparents, childminders and other family members caring for your children may use your copy with them. That is fine and expected.

3. What you may not do

  • Sell, resell, rent or sub-licence the file
  • Give or send copies to friends, family outside your household, colleagues or groups
  • Upload it anywhere others can get it — including but not limited to: websites, cloud folders, Facebook groups, Google Drive links, file-sharing sites, WhatsApp groups
  • Include it in a bundle, freebie, membership or course
  • Print copies to sell, or to give away at scale
  • Use it commercially, or across a nursery, school, clinic or other setting, without a settings licence (see section 5)
  • Claim it as your own work, or remove our branding and licence details
  • Copy the design, layout or code to make a competing product

4. Sharing it is not a victimless favour

We are a very small operation. Every product here started as something made for one child and turned into something other parents wanted. Posting a copy in a group of five thousand parents is the difference between this being viable and not being viable.

If someone you know would like it, please send them the free demo instead — littlenatter.co.uk. They can try the whole thing without paying, which is more useful to them than a file they’ll have questions about anyway.

5. Nurseries, schools, childminders and clinical settings

The standard licence covers one household. If you work with children professionally you need a settings licence — but please don’t let that put you off, it exists to make this possible for you, not to catch you out.

A settings licence covers things like:

  • childminders using it with the children in their care
  • nursery or preschool rooms
  • a class or a whole school
  • speech and language therapists, SEN specialists and other practitioners building resources per child

It includes bulk pricing and a proper invoice for your finance team. Get in touch and tell us roughly how many children and how many staff, and we’ll sort something sensible.

6. Your copy has your name in it

We want to be completely straight with you about this.

Each file we sell is generated individually at the moment you buy it, with your name, your order number and a unique licence reference written into it. You will see it at the foot of the page when you open the product.

This means:

  • If a copy turns up on a sharing site, we can see which order it came from.
  • Nothing is sent back to us. The product never contacts our servers and works entirely offline. The marking simply sits inside your file.
  • We are not monitoring you or your family. We have no idea when or how you use the product, and we never see your photos.

We do this because it is the least intrusive option available to us. The alternative — logins, activation servers, subscriptions, files that expire — would make the product worse for everyone who plays fair. A name in the footer is a small price for keeping this simple.

7. If the licence is breached

If a file is distributed in breach of these terms we may withdraw the licence, refuse future orders, and take further action where the distribution is significant or commercial.

In practice, if we find a copy of one of our files somewhere it shouldn’t be, our first step is an email asking for it to be taken down. Most cases are a misunderstanding and end there.

8. Updates

If we improve a product you have bought, email us and we will send you the updated version at no charge. We are not going to charge you twice for the same thing.

9. Questions

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, just ask: hello@littlenatter.co.uk. We would far rather have a friendly email than have you guess.
