The short version: we collect what we need to sell you a file and nothing else. We never sell your data. And the photographs of your children that you add to our products never leave your own device — we have no way to see them, and no copy of them exists anywhere but on your device.
1. Who is responsible for your data
[Little Natter Ltd, trading as Little Natter] is the data controller for personal information collected through littlenatter.co.uk.
- Contact: [hello@littlenatter.co.uk]
- Address: TBE
2. The photographs you add to our products
This is the question we get asked most, so it goes first.
Our products run entirely inside your web browser, on your own device. When you add a photo of your child, your family or your home, that photo is processed on your device and saved into your own file. It is never uploaded to us, never sent over the internet, and never stored on any server. We could not look at your photos even if we wanted to.
The same applies to your children’s names, the tasks you write, and any other content you put into a product. It stays on your device.
This is a deliberate design decision, and it is why our products work with no internet connection at all.
3. What we do collect
| What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, billing address and country | To process your order, send your download, and issue a receipt | Performance of a contract |
| Order details and payment status (not card numbers) | To fulfil and support your order | Performance of a contract |
| Your IP address and the country we detect from it, recorded at checkout | Tax law requires us to hold two pieces of evidence of where a customer is based when selling digital products | Legal obligation |
| A record that you consented to immediate download, with the date, time and IP address | Consumer law requires us to evidence this consent | Legal obligation |
| Your email address, if you sign up for our list | To send you the free chart and occasional updates | Consent — withdrawable at any time |
| Anonymous usage statistics (pages viewed, whether a demo was opened) | To understand what is useful and improve the site | Consent, via the cookie banner |
4. Your purchased files carry your name
Every file we sell is generated individually for you, with your name, your order number and a unique licence reference written into it. This is visible at the foot of the page when you open the product.
We do this so that files shared publicly can be traced back to the account that bought them. It is the reason we can keep selling one-off files at a fair price rather than moving to a subscription or locking products behind a login. We are telling you about it plainly because we think you should know, and because it would be wrong to do it quietly.
This marking exists only inside the file on your device. It does not report anything back to us, and the product never contacts our servers.
5. Card payments
We do not see, handle or store your card details. Payments are processed by:
- Stripe — privacy policy
- PayPal — privacy policy
6. Cookies
We use as few cookies as we can get away with:
- Essential — keep your basket working and let you log in. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics — tell us which pages and demos people use. Only set if you accept them.
You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
7. How long we keep things
- Order and tax records — 6 years plus the current year, as UK tax law requires
- Your personalised files — kept while your account is active, so you can re-download
- Marketing email address — until you unsubscribe, then removed
- Analytics — [14] months
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it
- restrict or object to how we use it
- provide it in a portable format
- stop sending you marketing — instantly, via the unsubscribe link in any email
Email [hello@littlenatter.co.uk] and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
9. Children
Our products are for children, but our shop is not. We sell to adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Because the photos and names of children entered into our products never leave your device, we hold no personal data about your children at all.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant and you are on our mailing list, we will tell you by email.
